Breather
Well, the past 3 nights have been about taking the 400 prints, signing and numbering, hand embossing and hand rounding corners on each of the prints. What I found was that embossing an 18pt. thick paper is much harder than a 100lb. thick paper stock. MUCH harder. It was way harder to get the enfu emboss to stick out, I had to do multiple squeezes as hard as I could to get it to look good. To top off all the red palmness I got from squeezing the heck out of the embosser, my thumbs were numb pressing the corner rounder stamper. I had to physically rest my fingers after each and every print. After a couple prints and figuring out I couldn't physically accomplish this amount of prints at this rate, I took a rubbery tape measure in my hand, placed it in between the button I had to push down and my hand, so I didn't have to strain my fingers. This worked really well, which made me able to push the button without putting so much weight on my fingers.
I found a nice milk crate which fit all my prints perfectly and made my own print stack library thingy. Awesome....looking at that stack of packaged prints made me feel a sense of real accomplishment.
Now that I've gone through this process for the 3rd time, I feel like I've gotten what I need to know out of this process and am able to completely free up my mind space for letting more creative ideas occupy my head before it gets commited on paper.
I'll be taking a breather before I print my next batch of prints.
To give you guys a hint of what I'm thinking about next:
5-8 pieces that go together, all vehicles in my head on greenish paper, using some metalic inks. This will be a test to see if I can really get a cohesive look down which will tie all the pieces together. I'm up for the challenge.
This is the most fun part of Enfu. Transfering what I see in my mind's eye to a physical manisfestation of a print which I can share with many people.
