Daruma Series sent to print.

This is a sneak peak as to what the open edition Mini Daruma series will be. Darumas come normally without eyes. When you set a goal, you paint in one eye, and when you complete a goal, you paint in the other. I have alloted a space on the bottom for people to write in their own goals. Also there are a total of 6 version of the Mini Darumas so far with its own unique kanji character symbolizing the nature of the goal. The one below is the kanji "Tomi", which means wealth.

These are what the next main Enfu limited edition prints will look like.

Finally the series has been sent to print. The final colors have been decided, and now it will be in the hands of the fine craftmanship of Steve Horvath.
Unfortunately my printer Tom Dewar who has exclusively been printing my Enfu prints has moved on to another career, so he will not be available to be my printer. I have decided to go with Steve Horvath, who is the owner of D&L Printing in Ballard, Seattle. His craftmanship and attention to detail is amazing, as his client list will attest to.
There will be a version of these prints that will replace the gold with silver, so that there will be a rarer silver version of these prints which will be available if requested.

Daruma Series WIP

So I've been slacking again in my blog posts, but I've still been working at home on my next series.
These are my works in progress images. I'm working out the basic compositions of all the pieces at the same time.
Currently I'm planning on 3 pieces around 10"x13" with an edition of 50.
Then for the first time Enfu will release a few open edition mini prints!
I've not come up with names yet, but here is a bried description of the prints:
1. "Daru-tryoshka" Simply is my image of what a child born of a Daruma doll and Matryoshka (Russian) doll would look like. This image shows the beginning stages of the creation of this image, starting from a sketch.
2. "DaruMix" Different arrangements of both Daruma and Matryoshka before they become conjoined.
3. "Darenga"- This image is a combination of 2 children's toys I played when I was a kid. One was Jenga a familiar game in the US. The other is called Daruma Otoshi. Daruma Otoshi is a game where you are supposed to hit the blocks on the bottom with a hammer without toppling the top block. Jenga is where you pull a block from the bottom and put it on top before it topples. I had arranged the piece to be more interesting, so there are Daruma's on both ends and tried to arrange the piece similar to a Jolly Roger pose.
4. Open Edition Darumas - will have several different versions with different kanji on the front, and an area to write down your goals, and possibly have the eyes removed so you have to draw the eyes in yourself.
