Bamboo Veneer prep work

So I recieved my metal hand stamp and branding iron.

Time to test it out.

I initially would've liked the brands to have come out more consistently, but I had to wait for the temperature to be the right amount and apply the right amount of pressure. I also found that prepping the veneer by sanding it would've made the brand look better.

The hand stamp turned out great, in my opinion.

So I guess I'll probably have to do significant prep work to each piece of veneer before applying the screenprint on it.

1. Sand corners, sides with coarse paper, and surfaces with fine paper.
2. Fill hand stamped signature with polymer and sand surface.
3. Screenprint. Polyuerathane layer sprayed to seal inks from polymer.
4. Add layer of polymer (dry for one day).
5. Add second polymer layer (dry for one day).
6. Add transparency gradient layer plus polymer (dry for one day).
7. 2 polymer layers (dry for two days).
8. 2 layers of matte varnish. (dry for two days).
9. Hammer in frame hook.
10. Apply Certificate of Authenticity.

The actual time it takes to create this look after the screenprint itself takes a week...not counting prep time before and after.

This is just what I'm thinking it will take to finish one piece. We'll see if this really will work.
